Who is The Warren...
The Warren is owned and run by me, Nicky Higgins, helped by my three daughters. I have had over 25 years experience as a rabbit and guinea pig owner and at least 15 of those as a small scale breeder. All my rabbits are first and foremost pets. They are handled every day by both adults and children and any kits are also handled from early on. My breeding does are kept in pairs and kindle together. They are all fed on hay, fresh from the field, redigrass and a small amount of commercial rabbit pellet.
I started boarding because I was often asked by friends, and those I had sold animals to, to look after their pets whilst they were away, this led to an increase in hutches and eventually “The Warren”. When I have space I take in and find homes for unwanted or “found” rabbits many handed in at our local vet.
